So, Who Is Annie Desantis?

Firstly, I am a parent of two amazing adult children, and two adult stepchildren. I have just been blessed with the birth of my second Grandbaby, a beautiful wee girl, and have another little cutie who is now two.

Was I a perfect parent when raising my own children?

Not by a long shot! But I did consciously learn everything I could about how to be the best parent I could be, and when things weren't working I found ways to get help, to learn new skills, or try something different.

I do have a background in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, and I am a Psychotherapist, Facilitator, Artist and Parenting Coach. I have worked extensively with parents and organizations, teaching and coaching for many years.

Whilst eagerly waiting the arrival of little Mia (my first Granddaughter) I started thinking about what would have been helpful to me when raising my own children. I remember reading copiously, but of course the Internet wasn't available back then and I was limited to libraries and bookshops. I lived in a mining town in Western Australia and information and support for parenting was pretty limited.

Many of my clients over the years have been asking me to write a book, or get online, and finally here I am! (The book is still a way off though!) The Internet is also a way for me to reach a wider network of families, and take my business globally. Having a grand-daughter in London, elderly parents in New Zealand and I am in Australia, means the time is perfect for me to be able to work anywhere in the world.

Anyway, the ideas have been percolating away for some time and the Universe has given me a few nudges to bring it all together!

So how did I actually build my website? I researched extensively to find out the best way to build a proper online business. I've seen way too many get rich quick schemes both online and off, and I knew I wanted to find a way to build a website from scratch without having to figure it all out myself, or pay someone heaps to build it for me.

After about 6 months I knew enough to know what I wanted but it was starting to feel a bit overwhelming, there seemed to be so many componants I needed to learn about. So I spent some time one day meditating and asking for clarity and a clear direction. And the next day I got an email from someone I highly respected telling me about Site Build It (SBI) which has been one of the best nudges the Universe has given me!

The support and teaching have been superb, and it is so exciting to be able to bring my ideas to fruition. I just love writing about my passion - our wonderful little miracles!
