Easter Egg Treasure Hunt Gone Wrong!

Easter Activities For Children: An Easter Egg Hunt

When my children were small, I always did a treasure hunt with clues for Easter. After they went to bed, I would hide a variety of small Easter Eggs, each with a clue attached to find the next one. They would collect them all up in a basket, and share them out at the end.

The last egg they found would be the Biggie!

But one year it went horribly wrong. We had just moved to a new house, and it had a lovely garden, with little paths and lots of hiding places. So I decided to hide most of the eggs outside.

The next morning, they excitedly gathered to start their Easter egg hunt, and I gave them the first clue. I went back inside to put the hot cross buns in the oven, before joining them outside.

I was confronted by two very confused children holding bits of foil and paper clues. Some of which they found just sitting in the middle of the lawn. Unfortunately in the night a creature must have found the eggs and eaten most of them, and destroyed half the clues. We managed to patch together the clues and fortunately I had hidden the big ones inside, so they didn't miss out totally!

That was a lesson I'll never forget! Don't hide chocolate Easter eggs outside! Thank goodness I had a few more little eggs stashed away inside.

After that, for any outside Easter Egg hunts, we used hard boiled eggs!

Click N Kids would have to be one of my subscribers most popular programs, and from what they say, it is mostly because the kids have fun while they are learning. In fact they don't even realize they are learning! Click N kids are using the Looney Tune Characters now in their phonics program, which of course kids just love.
