Naughty Easter Bunny - Easter Treasure Hunt
by Jude
We have a very naughty Easter Bunny who visits our house to set up an Easter Treasure Hunt. He makes muddy footprints all over the clean kitchen floor - We have white tiles! He makes muddy prints on the carpet, and this very naughty Easter bunny tips things out, and moves furniture and makes a terrible mess. All the time he is hiding little Easter Eggs all over the house. My daughter is 8 1/2 and my son is 7, and their friends have tried to tell them there is no such thing as the Easter Bunny. But they are totally convinced. I am very particular about the house and quite strict about the kids having to tidy up before going to bed. Because we have a lot of white tiles and pale carpet and furniture, I insist they take their shoes off at the door, and am always nagging about keeping things clean. It is so funny, I have heard them arguing with their friends about the mess and about how mad I am at the wicked Easter Bunny who leaves the house in chaos. No way could it be me! I always feel like a naughty child when I set it all up, throwing things around, tipping out the pantry, even upending cereal boxes, and hiding eggs in the flour bin. I make a mud mixture and use the tips of my fingers to make the Easter Bunny prints. The night before we pray that the terrible Easter Bunny will not visit our house, although I know the kids secretly are praying he does! They come running in in the morning to tell me he has been at it again. I write on the window in jam how many eggs there are to find and the kids after a shocked look at the mess and looking at me to see how I will react start collecting. They divide them up afterwards. I also put some clues around by writing in flour, or muddy notes. I leave bits of carrots pointing to hidden eggs. I wonder how much longer they will believe in him - and they even help clean up afterwards as they can't believe the havoc. I has me giggling for days thinking about what mess I will make this year! |
Annie RecommendsThere is so much confusing information out there about parenting, it can be hard to know how to cover all bases. Benefits for Parents
Dr. Rosina McAlpine is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney, and has received numerous awards for her work in education. Her program is a holistic approach to child development spanning 7 key areas of life. I think this is a great resource for busy Moms - it takes ages sifting and sorting what your child needs, or finding a great activity that has a good learning focus for your kids. It covers all bases, and makes it easy to spend quality time with your kids, knowing they are learning valuable skills that will be with them for life. Life Skills For Kids would also make a great resource for homes-schoolers.

In fact they don't even realize they are learning! Click N kids are using the Looney Tune Characters now in their phonics program, which of course kids just love. Featured SponsorWall Candy Art
