Physical Pain In Children

Annie,
We ordered your book EFT 4 Kids: A Parent's Manual - last night and it is for Donna to help her 10 year old granddaughter, Emily. Emily has been sick for a few months and getting worse. She has pain in her stomach area and her parents have taken her to several doctors and had a lot of test done, but can find nothing so far.

Emily is a beautiful girl and is thin but is very tall for her age and already wearing a size 8 1/2 shoe size. There are some kids at school teasing and embarrassing her about her foot size and also when she was an infant she was on a lot of medication and it has discolored her teeth and she is teased about this.

It has been very hurtful to her and I was telling my sister, Donna, that this may have effected her with all this pain in her stomach. Of course we are not sure of this because Emily has been ill with a lot of viruses.

When reading about your book we thought that there was some tapping examples for physical pain. If you can give Donna any information to help her tap with Emily for the physical pain we would very much appreciate this help.

Thank you,

EFT Works Well For Pain
by: Annie Desantis

Hello,
I've moved your question to the EFT for Kids Forum, so our other EFT parents can also get the benefits of any answers - and can also post comments with their own experiences.

Since Donna purchased the EFT 4 Kids Manual, she is entitled to a personalized script (which also gets emailed out to all the other parents who have a copy). I'll work on this tomorrow and send it out as soon as I can.

Firstly though, some ideas which may help in the meantime, and for other parents wanting ideas about using EFT for pain issues and children.

Firstly, physical pain is not always a physical issue. And in Emily's case, since so far the medical tests are not bringing any results - I would strongly suggest her physical pain is caused by emotional pain. We also end up developing chronic physical conditions as a result of a build up of hurts and stress.

We often store any unresolved trauma, stress or unhappiness in our bodies. Particularly people who are very feeling orientated. Stomach pain is quite common in children, particularly if they find it hard to put words to how they feel.

My thinking with Emily, is her experiences at school at present, are very much a "kick in the guts" - hurtful stuff that she is taking into her. She also has a history of illnesses, so there may well be other issues around equating illness with being cared for and looked after. So there are lots of areas that Tapping will be really helpful to build her self esteem, strengthen her immune system, as well as deal with the pain.

You can adapt any of the self esteem tapping scripts, even the bullying script will have some good affirmations to work with for her.

The other thing that would be a good idea, is for the concerned adults involved to tap out their worry about Emily! She clearly has a strong loving family around her which is wonderful. But also our worry about our kids and the pain we feel when we see them hurting, also needs to be cleared. That will actually help her!

I'll email something more tailored for Emily in the next 48 hours, in the meantime, keep on Tapping!

The Tapping Insider's Club has a free video up at present about using EFT for pain issues. It may only stay up for a week or so, as it is part of their member's only content.

Jessica Ortner is interviewing Stacy Vornbrock about using EFT for pain issues, and they actually tap through a sequence to give you some good ideas about how to use Tapping with Pain.

Click N Kids would have to be one of my subscribers most popular programs, and from what they say, it is mostly because the kids have fun while they are learning. In fact they don't even realize they are learning! Click N kids are using the Looney Tune Characters now in their phonics program, which of course kids just love.
