Preschool Easter Crafts: Easter Bunny Basket

This is a fairly easy preschool Easter craft, but of course a young child needs supervision. They learn to use scissors, which is a challenge for young children.

They make a bunny that sits in the Easter Bunny Basket that they have decorated with pieces of tissue paper.

Please remember that polystyrene can be dangerous so don't let them eat it!

You need:

Colored Tissue Paper

Paper or polystyrene cup

Foam balls - 1 smaller than the other for the head

Pipe Cleaners

Stick on eyes or stickers

Tooth pick

Cotton Ball for the tail

Felt Pens and Ribbon for decorating

Scissors and Glue

Use the toothpick to secure the smaller ball to the larger.

The preschooler cuts up pieces of tissue paper and glues them to the outside of the cup.

They also cut some strips to be straw for the Easter Bunny to sit on.

Use pipe cleaners to make a handle for the Easter Bunny Basket, and also for the rabbit ears. Your preschooler may be able to help twist the ends of the pipe cleaners to secure it.

They also decorate the face of the bunny, either drawing on eyes and mouth, or sticking them on, and stick on the cotton tail - which may need trimming.

To assemble they squish some strips of tissue into the cup and nestle the Easter Bunny on top.
