Super Skills Can Be Adapted To Most Ages

Hi Carole,

Great Question! I have run Super Skills for pretty much all ages over 5, and include case studies of a 14 year old - and a 4year old! Of course to design a home study course it has to be more generic, but it is totally adaptable for any age. (Even parents!)

It is a very comprehensive course, and at any age there will be things that are more useful and things that aren't. Even for each individual child, and depending on what they are working on, some of the tools will be more or less relevant. It is a matter of going with the energy of the child, and helping them to find solutions and set goals.

It's funny though, sometimes I have thought teenagers would not be interested in something (like a using a super hero as a mentor) and surprisingly many find that really helpful. So really it is a matter of adapting and working with what motivates or supports each child. They are the ones that work out what they need and want, the parents or teachers are really just the facilitator, offering ideas if wanted. It is not about having to do all the steps to achieve success, sometimes kids get a breakthrough simply by doing some of the early processes.
