I have always enjoyed the premise behind this book. It simply taught children that they can succeed, they just have to keep trying. This is a good lesson to learn early in life.

Our Son had the version by Watty Piper. We read it on regular occasions. He always loved it when I read to him because I gave voices to all the different characters.

When you make reading interesting by animating the books you read to your children they will think of reading as a hobby and not a chore.

Also, when a book like 'The Little Engine That Could' teaches a lesson, your child learns while reading.
