Tricky Fingers Learning Game Set
by Judith Rachmani
(Ramat Gan, Israel)
My son's occupational therapist recommended that I buy my son Tricky Fingers in order to improve his manual dexterity.
Tricky Fingers consists of:
Two closed game boxes, containing 16 colored marbles each, with small holes in the bottom to poke small fingers through and a see-through top
and 14 colored pattern cards.
The game can be played alone or against another player.
You place the box/boxes and the pattern cards upside-down on a table and, then, turn over the box/boxes and a pattern card and try to maneuver the marbles in the box to match the pattern on the pattern card - as fast as possible.
Because my son is excited by competitive games, he loves playing Tricky Fingers with me - especially as his small fingers almost always succeed in maneuvering the marbles faster than me.
It's the only exercise recommended by his occupational therapist that he readily agrees to undergo.
I also use the pattern cards as a basis for other games. I have him (and his friends) use colored sticker dots to copy the pattern of a pattern card on to large-grid graph paper (which can be downloaded from the Internet for free).
And The Winner Is . . .by
I am delighted to announce that Judith's review was the winner of our contest, best educational toy reviews.
We had some fantastic reviews, and also several people emphasizing, it is not the toy that is important, but it is the interaction with parents or teachers that make a toy or game a great educational opportunity.
Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry, it is always so hard to choose a winner, and our panel of parents decided to award the $50 Amazon Gift Card to Judith Rachmani, from Israel, for her review of the Tricky Fingers Learning Game.
Judith's review gave a great description of the game, plus her own experience using Tricky Fingers with her son and his friends. She was recommended the game by her son's occupational therapist, and was so impressed, she has since gone on to buy 30 more games to give as presents!
